Powerful hindquarters danced across the track. The powerful filly's cerebrum flung through the air in anticipation. Evelyn had a tight but gently hold upon the spirited filly, known as Genuine Risk. Her chestnut hide blazed under the hot june sun. Insceries pounded as Evelyn turned her in a circle to calm her down. Squeezing her legs slightly she asked Genuine for slow canter, the filly leaped out wanting to gallop, but was disappointedly held back by her strong rider. When Genuine was born she was very sick and nearly died due to bein premature. Thankfully Evelyn took the time to save her, no one believed the filly would ever become anything. Evelyn thought different. They slowly lapped the track at a rhythmic canter, finally slowing the filly to a halt. Evelyn bent over her in jockey position, grabbing achucnk of her mane she yelled, "Go!" Kneeding her hands up the fillies neck and sqeezing her legs indicating to a gallop. Without any urgement the filly exploded forward. Long appendages stretched forward eating up the distance. Her mane whipped and stung Evelyns face, the speed they were going at was unbelievable. Evelyn was trying to keep her under control until the backstretch, they had a mini race after the small warm-up. Genuine tugged and fought Evelyn the whole way. Evelyn stood up in the stirrups trying to slow her, obediantly Genuine slowed reluctantly. Turning the filly she urged her into a canter towards the starting gates. Genuine pulled up beside and was led in quitely. When the three horses were loaded, Evelyn looked at the two competeters. A very strong looking mare named Holly who had won the Breeders cup classic, and then the other a mare named Sacrifice who got second to holly. Biting her lip she turned forward and grabbed a chunk of mane. Leaning forward she waited it seemed like forever and then suddenly, the gates flew open and the rining sounded. Genuine bolted forward taking an early lead. The jockey beside them riding sacrifice pulled out a whip and Genuine immediatly slowed behind them. Evelyn wanted to scream! Genuine was whip shy and whenever she saw one she dropped back and wouldn't try anymore. She wanted to desperatly prove the filly a great runner but she couldn't as long as there was whips. She kneeded her hands along the fillies neck pleading to go. Fianlyl her auds flickered back and she began to listen, Genuine took a few more seconds and then kicked into high gear. Exploding down the field, she came roaring up on the two horses ahead. They were around 10 lengths infront but Evelyn trusted and believed Genuine could catch them! Evelyn asked for more speed and that was what Genuine gave. Genuine continued to poor on the speed, as she bore down upon them. Her not as long appendages matched theirs her speed heart stopping. She drew up along side of them showing not signs of tirement. Surprise entered the other jockies faces and then turned to determination. Genuine flung her visage and poored on more speed, pulling away from them. They were a length infront now two and there was the wire they had it! Holly came up along side of them no prepared to give up, Genuine flattened her auds to her skull and poored on the speed as did Holly. They pounded on along side of each other neck and neck. The wire it was right there Evelyn begged Genuine for more speed, the filly hesitated and then let herself go. She roared ahead of Holly her speed uncatchable she pulled herself across the wire a length and a half infront! They had done it! They won! Evelyn stood up in her stirrups slowing Genuine. Her face beamed with pride of her horse. Turning the weary but proud filly towards the stop watch men, their faces held extreme surprise. They wobbled towards her, looking up they spoke your horse just broke the record at tanfran! This is just unbelievable! She nearly died at birth and here she is breaking records! Holly broke the record as well but since you came infront you broke hers! Evelyn sat there shocked letting it sink in, she laughed and spoke, "This is incredible I migth actually have something here!" Turning Genuine she began to walk her up the track to cool her down, she beamed with sheer pride. She couldn't believe it but yet it was true! She had a record breaking filly and she couldn't wait to start racing her in real offical races!

He leaned on the railing, dark brown hair falling into darker brown eyes as his gaze followed the various thoroughbreds around the track. He came every morning to watch them, getting up early for the simple enjoyment of seeing them run.
Travis wanted one of these creatures for his own. No, he longed for one. A filly. A bay preferably. One that would beat out the colts and win the Triple Crown.
He let out a rare grin and chuckled at his own thoughts, shaking his head wistfully. As lovely as it would be, the 20-year old realized the chances of that happening were very low indeed. Anyways, at this point, he'd settle for a grey colt that ran in allowance races. Anything so he could experiance the wonder of owning a horse. A racehorse at that.
His eyes traveled over to where several horses were having a mock-race. As he strained to see them at the far side of the track, he thought he could recognise one of them, Holly. The mare who had won the Classic. He watched in surprise as a chestnut filly came up to challenge the famous mare, then to pass her, reaching speeds he had not known horses could attain.
As the filly's jockey walked the mare out, he hesitated, then called out after her.
"Excuse me miss, that filly isn't for sale, is she?" After that performance, he highly doubted the answer would be yes but figured that it would do no harm to ask.

Hearing a call she turned the gorgeous filly, to see a man calling for her. She smiled softly trotting near him slowing Genuine. She looked to the young man and listened as he spoke. Her own sweet vocals replied back, "Oh no sorry sir I wouldn't sell her if she was crippled. I love her too much and I never knew she could run like that." She smiled again dismounting she pulled her helmet off, as medium lengthed strawberry brown hair fell to her shoulders. She looked down then up again her sweet, kind lyrics emitted once more, "But I am looking for someone who could possible help me in training her? If you would like to take part in her training..and if she goes anywhere maybe you could have half of the purses she wins?" She smiled again, Evelyn couldn't stand to be mean or harsh towards anyone. She hated people like that and he seemed nice and looked like a trainer meaning he could probably help her. He took such an interest in her it made her think that maybe he was trainer. Her face lit up and she spoke again, "Oh and by the way I am Evelyn." Her smile never fading from her slightly tanned face, green, vibrant eyes piercing the soft mist that formed around the track.

Travis chanced a grin, unable to do anything but admire her outgoing friendliness, even towards someone she'd never met. As he looked her over, he realised he found her rather attractive as well, but he pushed those thoughts away as he spoke up to introduce himself.
"Nice to meet you Evelyn, I'm Travis," He nodded to her. "And, as much as I'd love to help train the gorgeous creature, I'll admit to knowing absolutely nothing about training racehorses, except for the basics. " He shook his head wistfully. "If only I did. I'd love to learn but, that's one place where I have no idea where to start."

"Hmm Yeah, well I really just need someone who knows the basics I know how to train her on the track just building her speed is where I am stumped." She chuckled lightly flashing her sweet white smile towards Travis. He was so nice unlike some guys she had met here, she liked him and probably didn't try to muscle around horses and try to break their spirit more just give them the time to get accustomed and never break their spirit just talked to them. Her redish brown hair blew slightly in the soft zephyr that picked up across the track, she smiled sftly loving being out during such a gorgeous sunny summer day. Genuine Risk bobbed her dial swinging her hind quarters around wanting to run once more now seeing more and more horses roar past at lightning speed. She smiled speaking softly the filly, "Its ok girl quite down now." Turning her head back towards Travis she waited for his response to her offer her friendly smile never leaving.

Travis grinned at her, momentarily lost in his studying of her face, yet he stumbled to reply quickly as he realised she was waiting for his response.
"Well, ah, I still don't know how much help I'll be but I'd certainly love to be a part of her training." He replied, trying not to grow overly excited at the thought of seeing Evelyn nearly every day. What a delight that would be! His attentions were drawn to the filly for a brief moment, as he realised he did not even know the creatures name.
"What do you call her?" He asked, studying the finely chisled figure of the horse.

Evelyn smiled and chuckled slightly as he stumbled and stuttered over his words, she listened intently the smile on her lips never leaving. After asked what her name was, Evelyn quickly replied, "Her name is Genuine Risk." She smiled again right after she had finished speaking. A slight breeze picked up across the track blowing her hair in her face quickly swipinjg it away she dismounted. The filly hadn't even broke into a sweat after the run, she was amazing and glad she had saved her but no matter what she wouldn't sell the filly if she was crippled and couldn't run, The filly was such a great horse she didn't deserve to be sold around because of her disability if that did ever occur but luckily it didn't.

"Pretty name. It suits her." Travis said, glancing at Evelyn nervously. Evelyn. That's a pretty name too. He blushed at his thoughts, a momentary wild fear that she might be able to hear what was going on inside his head. Working up his nerve, he spoke again. "Um, hey, once you've put her away, would you like to meet me for dinner at the Butterfly Diner? I... I thought maybe we could talk over some training techniques or...something." He added hastily. Before now, he'd never have thought it possible to feel so awkward. If someone had told him earlier that day that he'd be asking a girl out to dinner, he would have laughed and thought it impossible. It just went to show how little he actually knew about himself.

Evelyn chuckled and spoke, "Thanks!" a red tint covered her cheeks lightly as she then spoke, "Sounds Great, actually I better put her up now" She smiled softly leading Genuine towards the barn. She turned to Travis and spoke, "Come on I will show you her stall." As usual she had a smile upon her tanned face. Her crimson red hair blew softly in the zephyr. She led Genuine with one hand holding her helmet in the other. Genuine danced around swinging her hind quarters in a show offy way, knowing breakfast was coming.

"Alright."
Travis followed, eyes focused on the back of her head. Like a devoted puppy after his master, He thought ruefully to himself, grinning at the image. Man, he was such a dweeb. A pretty girl pays attention to him and he falls head over heels for her. Shaking his head as if laughing at himself, his mind wandered around for a safe conversation topic. Hopefully, one that didn't make him seem like a complete idiot.
"So, uh, what's the filly's history. Anything interesting?" Alright. So-so topic. Not overly enthusiastic or anything.

Evelyn turned and smile as he asked her own vocals following quickly after, "Well nothing really, She was born premature and had almost died. Luckily I was there to keep her alive no one cared whether she lived or died. I cared though, she has turned out ot be very promising but she has come 2nd in her last two races I wonder what is wrong with her. Hmm well I am sure she will kick into gear in The Arkansas Derby, seeing as it is a very important race." She turned and smiled again. The Chestnut filly tossed her dial, prancing along the gravel path way, lifting her legs gracefully while nape arched in a showy off way. Evelyn smiled and chuckled at the fillies spirit, her thoughts drifted to the Arkansas Derby she had better start winning races if she wanted to win the Kentucky Derby. What could possible be wrong with her? She could have left all of those horses in the dust if it had not been for unwilling attitude. Finally reached the stall she smiled at the brass, chrome plate with Genuine Risk written on it. Opening the stall door she unleashed the filly into her clean stall, with water and food waiting for her.

"That's a sweet story," Travis leaned on the stall door as the woman released the filly into it's space, watching the horse's antics. "And I'm sure she'll sweep past the rest of the competition at the Arkensas Derby." He flashed her a smile, hoping he sounded sincere. There were times when people seemed to think he was being sarcastic, which bugged him a lot, considering he rarely let sarcasm slip through his lips.

Evelyn turned and smiled softly as she spoke, "I sure hope she does." Her medium lengthed strawberry red hair sat upon her shoulders lightly. Bright, golden brown eyes averted to Travis and back to Risk. Her thoughts swirling, in hopes of how well Risk will do throughout her career. Her soft voice spoke once more, "So do you need a place to stay? I have a guest house if you would like to stay there since you are helping with Genuines Training now." She smiled softly waiting for his response.

A guest house! She was inviting him to stay at her guest place!? His heart leapt at the idea but he kept his voice level as he replied. "That sounds wonderful," He admitted, letting out a small laugh. "I've been just renting a scrawny apartement up until now and I long to get out of it." His thoughts traveled back to the one bedroom apartment, remembering how he'd left it. If he was correct in recalling, there were odd socks littering the ground, as well as copies of various horse magazines adorning the tabletop and the sofa. There would probably be a pile of dirty dishes awaiting his return and his laundry was in need of doing. Unable to help himself, he let out a chuckle, admitting to himself he was a horrible house-keeper.

Forward *forward sound* lol
"What are the chances of a horse going down in the preakess?!? She was fine earlier and she broke cleanly there was nothing wrong!" A sinlge tear slid down Evelyns face, she had been with Genuine since she was sickly foal and now she was gone plus she was almost in debt. Biting her lip she just wanted to break out in rage and destroy stuff but of course she did not do that seeing as it would be childish and a bit crazy. Turning to Travis she spoke, "I guess we better find another horse eh? I mean I only have $79,000 left, and payments are coming up soon. Maybe if we find a good grade 1 stakes winner we will be good even just a maiden winner would be great and would help tons." She looked to Travis her blood shot eyes watery from the constant tears over her gone beloved horse. She waited his response and if he knew of any promising horses for sale.
lol I have no muse what so ever and how are we gonna bring Sea Secret into the picture? lol
